I have seen the Avengers. My head is splitting open with movie migraine, but it was SO WORTH IT, and I require movieverse PSL's and/or games IMMEDIATELY.

Marvel, I'm sorry for neglecting you so long, baby, but I'm coming back, I swear.

IJ is officially on notice. EVERY TIME I tried to do anything yesterday, it was down. It would come up for a minute, and then be down again. And I'd think it was just me, but downforeveryone said it wasn't, so it was just full of fail. Damnit.

Despite that, I did manage to upload icons for Datura, Blight, Drift, and Lalla, and fix up their journals/bios etc. and get them crossposted so that my inner sense of organization does not weep. Still must keyword, but progress. It has been made. Also after having stared at all their faces a lot while trying to upload icons multiple times because of IJ's refusal to work, I feel like I can safely say Gillian Jacobs makes the most adorable faces ever.

And I'm mostly caught up on The Odds and Reaped, too, and my googledocs that were waiting on me. Here is my list to do:( Cut for list nonsense. )

I am taking a Tribute break until after the next Odds rounds, but for my own reference, some Tribute concepts I would like to play.

I dropped my lone HP game today. I really love some of the players, and wanted to live there - hence my excitedly grabbing Percy, because I thought finally getting to play him would help me get back into it. But really the fallout from Changed just burnt me right out on HP, and it wasn't working. So I gave up the ghost and let it go. I am sad, but I really do think I need a long break from HP to recover. But I will miss it, and my characters. And regret not getting to play alastorgumboil's gold digging boytoy, along with not getting to really give Percy a shot. I will miss you all!

For those at gamemaker, I apologize if I've been slow/not with it. We had a horsey death in the family (as in actual horse), and some health issues, and it knocked me for a loop. But I should be back on track, so nudge me if I missed anything, or didn't reply to something I should have.

I also did a flist clean up/purge to remove some dead journals and things like that here, and update filters so I can not pester HP people with HG stuff in the future, and vice versa if I get back into HP land later on. So if I accidentally removed someone I shouldn't let me know.

And since I missed getting to say so in real time, here is a list of things that make me happy in the last few days, at The Odds: ( List! )

This is the first time since I STARTED journal RP that I have not had an HP game or PSL, I think, except for the period of time when I wasn't RPing at all for health reasons. It is a strange feeling!

I have finally seen the Hunger Games. I have feeeelings. ( Cut for spoilers. )

We were going to sneak into a last showing of John Carter afterward, but they apparently decided to not show it. So we snuck into Wrath of the Titans instead. Let me tell you, if you are given a choice between seeing this movie for free, or bashing your head against a wall, CHOOSE OPTION B. It will probably give you less of a headache, and will be more interesting. Bill Nighy is about the only entertaining part of it, and it's because he's Bill Nighy.

I really, really wish they would stop trying to convince me the following dudes should be in movie after movie after movie. I reserve the right to add to this list whenever someone annoys the crap out of me:

Anyway, Wrath of the Titans. If you watched Clash of the Titans and thought "man, what this movie needs is less plot, curlier hair, and an identical ending scene only with more fire", then this is probably the sequel for you.

I have a raaaaging headache and so much RP stuff I need to do, damnit. Also Remix stuff.

I cannot go see Hunger Games until next week, due to lack of monies. So I am silently judging everyone who gets to go see, just so you know. GOD you all, rushing to the theater, don't you know you're supposed to wait until I can go?

I am basically the worst person in the world, because I was like BRAN'S BROTHER/SISTER SHOULD BE REAPED NEXT ROUND. Or wait like, another two rounds and have it be one half of the ickle twins. Because SAD.

The romance novel meme over at gamemaker gave me a character concept that I have no room there for, but I totally want to do sometime. ( Cut for concept babble. )

I am also amused that both of my original hold slots that I lost ended up opening up again. But I'm totally happy with my 1 slot. 1 FTW! (I keep eying that second stylist and prep team spots on 4, but I'm behaving.)

I have achieved Tribute completion! I may still edit, because I am having a brain dumb, I hate my meds day so might have missed stuff. But mostly done. Thank you to everyone who was helping me PB!

Having done two non-Careers/unimpressive-to-the-Capitol Districts last time, I'm excited for the chance to play someone Trained for the games. I fully expect him to die still, but it will be a much different approach. I read the apps that came in already, so I don't THINK he's retreading too much ground the others cover so far. His app is ridiculously long, now that I look at it.

Anyone in 1 who wants to plot or tweak anything, just let me know!

I probably should repost Ash's drabbles to the history comm, since I forgot about it and I think a few others are putting theirs there.

And I need to finish Percy, now that I spent a million hours badly reddening his hair in icons in an online editor. (Or like an hour or two, probably, but who's counting?)

And the stupid chicken I was pre-baking before tomorrow is finally cool enough to put away, so now I can go to bed like I should have a million hours ago.

Guys. 10 seconds until Tributes were all held. Like literally. I was lurking on the page, hit refresh, and BOOM TAKEN.

That is kind of astonishing. The power of our pimping and enthusiasm is surreal.

I did not get a Tribute. (Well, I got a cannon fodder, but since he had a concept with his district partner, and she didn't get her hold, I released him back into the wild to give someone who hadn't had a Tribute at all yet a chance.) But I still have Ash and Dray! And I am waiting to see how it shakes out with the hold frenzy, and then might pick up another support character. And I will save my Tributes ideas for the next round, or for one of the other HG games opening. I did really love the tension of the Arena and playing a Tribute, so I was a bit disappointed, but I'm also just really excited to see how things go this round, with such a full roster and so much enthusiasm.

(Also if one of the icon-making people on my flist wants to PB Jaden Smith in Karate Kid for me, so I can murder him in the future, I would love you a lot.)

Why are Weasleys so damn hard to find PB's for? I am just going to start finding pictures of orange cats and saying that's their PB, Percy is a cat now.

I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the final logs of The Odds to go up. THE TENSION, OMG!!

Part of what's fun about gamemaker, is how the Games really just hit each of the Mentors differently. I wrote Ash as very detached and very deliberately showy - a mimic of emotion who didn't actually understand it. Which is what he is, most of the time, though not quite as much as I thought he would be. But Achilles came in, and there were just the right buttons that he pushed, and Ash doesn't know why, but he invested, and it's really, really new for him.

But since it's the first time I've played him (in public, he's a very slim relation to a former PSL character who had a similar personality and skill set, but it's a pretty tentative connection), it seemed to me that it probably didn't read as unusual as it was in my head. So I wanted to write some of his history, to show the progression for myself, and also to sketch out a little more of HIS Games. I've been picking at it pretty steadily for a while, but wasn't sure if I was going to post it anywhere, but since I'm all CDJ using lately, I figured why not.

So this is scenes from Ash's history. And thus of interest to. . . me, pretty much. Maia and Floriana, and any other characters from gamemaker who are mentioned are not mine, and belong to their respective players! Details I make up might not be game-canon compliant, and I didn't double check some of the ages. The Amber mentioned here is Ash's sister, not the PC of the same name.

Even with killing off BOTH my Tributes, I remain bingo-less. I am adopting Julie's philosophy that LAST to bingo wins. So I AM WINNING.



I have been useless for tagging since the death. Though I think we did a pretty nice job with the lead up and then the actual scene turned out nice . . . for, you know. Murder.

gamemaker is doing another round. livelovehump, adozenpapercuts, this is relevant to your interests. For reasons that involve me yakking at you about it for the last monthish. (I HAVE BUNNIES ALREADY.)

I need to finish stuff. I need food, and to do stuff.

This day is trying to kill me.

First, we made the decision to close changedmod. Given the situation, it felt necessary, and I don't regret it, but it was HARD, and closing a game I stepped in to try to save makes me feel like the world's biggest failure, and like everyone must be SO IRRITATED with me. I'm fairly sure that's not true, but emotions, they are not logical, so that's how I feel anyway. And I will miss my characters and lines.

So that happened. And then I was already kind of mopey over that, and I read my gamemaker flist, and this happened, and then this, and I ALMOST BAWLED. In that good, so-sad-it's-good way. I'm just really glad I found this game, since it's been an excellent change of pace, and is now my only active game.

I am contemplating a break from HP RP for a while, aside from PSL-y things. I am definitely going to take this time to finally finish overhauling my CDJ and updating all the posts. Right now I think only my current characters and retired characters are actually updated, and I'm thinking I might try to find a few PSL's, so updating the rest would be a good idea.

I really didn't get that choked up about it until I read Thyme and Lark's reactions, and then I was sniffling like crazy. Morgan's death also got to me. Paisley was guaranteed to be sad, but Dornick's reaction BROKE me.

I seriously don't know who to root for in the Games, because I love everyone. I play Ash, who wants to root for Achilles. Dray, who wants to root for Dornick. Deela, who wants to, you know, LIVE. And then I think about why Blue should win, and how awesome Satine is, and Lark, and how badass Ellis was, offing Bron, and Madoc's mini-me Orr andandand. . . . it's just really hard to pick ANYONE to root for when you love them all.

Also this game made me start using my CDJ again. So there's that.
